Poetry is one of my other passions aside from cards and flourishes. I thought i'd share some of my work with you all. Im currently only 16, so none of my work is well known. However, I am very proud of my poetry and I have already had one of my poems published in Englands 'Write stuff' book. A project hosted in schools to search for literary talents which is in the form of a competition. I came 5th nationaly and therefore got an oppourtunity to have my work published.

Mask:
In this age,
This time, this place
Of scandal and of
Pure disgrace.
You wear a mask to hide your face.
I can see but you cannot for
Wearing a mask hides allot.
Once a baby in your cot
Now you’re a man
Shamed and broken,
Your voice torn out,
Nothing spoken.
You keep it all
Bottled up inside
No ones reached you:
No ones tried.
Still you hide behind the mask
Why is life such task?
The world is twisted, bitter, sour
Life ticks by hour by hour
Yes age has come the mask is on.
Innocence has fled; youth is gone.
School
It’s hard to comprehend
The way things are these days
I seem to get caught up
And then get led off course.
I know what I want,
Because I can see it in my head
Then something else takes over
All my dreams are dead
I’m angry with myself,
I let everything slip
It seems so far away now
The reality it’s gone.
I’m slowly losing control,
The way I think is changed,
No prospects or projection
My world is rearranged.
I don’t know what to do with myself
There’s no one here to aid me
Nothing there to comfort me,
There is no one who can save me.
Cards:
Life deals me a joker, never an ace
Life ticks by at such a furious pace
Here today and gone tomorrow,
What’s on the cards?
Fear and sorrow
I view my hand, not much there
Play your card if you dare
There are rules to the game, just like living
The cards I’m dealt are unforgiving
Faces on cards like faces around me,
They all judge me yet none of them know me
Time is up, that’s it; I’m bust
Leave the table, go now…I must
